Sojos Original Dog Food Mix
New, improved formula! Sojos Original Dog Food Mix is Wheat and Corn-Free and contains a nutritious blend of herbs for the health and well-being of your dog. Sojos Original Dog Food Mix is a wholesome pre-mix that you combine with meat and veggies to create your own fresh, homemade pet food.
Dogs are designed to eat raw, unprocessed foods, and holistic vets have been recommending raw foods for dogs for over 20 years. Dry dog foods have been cooked and pelletized, thus robbing them of natural nutrients and enzymes. That’s why Sojourner Farms Original Dog Food Mix is made from simple, uncooked, all-natural ingredients. It’s as close as possible to dog food the way nature intended. That means no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors – only wholesome, human-quality ingredients like steamed-rolled oats, ground pecans, and carob powder. And because there are no fillers in Sojos, there’s much more nutrition in every bite – meaning your dog eats less, and your food lasts typically twice as long as most types of kibble. With Sojos Original Dog Food Mix creating your own complete and balanced dog food is simple and it only takes a couple of minutes a day.
Feeding Guidelines:
The following feeding guidelines are for adult dogs. Contact us for puppy and senior dog feeding guidelines or see the back of your Sojos Original Dog Food Mix.
Up to 12 lbs – 1/4 cup Sojos, 1/8 cup meat, 3/8 cup water.
13-25 lbs – 1/2 cup Sojos, 1/4 cup meat, 3/4 cup water.
26-50 lbs – 1 cup Sojos, 1/2 cup meat, 1 1/2 cups water.
51-75 lbs – 1 1/2 cups Sojos, 3/4 cup meat, 2 1/4 cups water.
76-100 lbs – 2 cups Sojos, 1 cup meat, 3 cups water.
Preparation Guidelines:
Combine Sojos, raw or lightly-cooked meat, and water. Let mixture soak for at least 15 minutes (or overnight in the refrigerator) and serve. You can mix up to a four-day batch ahead of time and refrigerate in a sealed container or freeze larger batches. For senior dogs we recommend once-a-day feeding. For adult dogs and puppies we recommend twice-a-day feeding. If you are feeding twice-a-day, split the recommended amounts above in half.
Adding Variety:
We believe in variety and encourage adding fresh or steamed veggies and other healthy foods, in addition to meat to Sojos Original Dog Food mix. Try mixing in a teaspoon of chopped greens, carrots, or other natural foods such as cooked brown rice, yogurt or eggs. AVOID citrus fruits, onions, and spicy foods. For dogs with special dietary needs, be sure to consult your veterinarian or contact a holistic veterinarian near you. To find a holistic vet in your area, call the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association at (410) 569-0795.
Transitioning Your Dog to Sojos:
It’s crucial to start your dog on Sojos gradually. We recommend at least a two-week transition period (4-6 weeks for older, sick, or finicky dogs). Start with just a pinch of Sojos, meat, and water added to the food you’re currently feeding and gradually increase each day as you decrease your dogs old food.
